B2B Marketing Events in London: A Sponsor Guide

Which London format suits your goal: private dinners, roundtables or Meet the Buyer summits, with dates and questions to ask a partner.

Why sponsors choose London for B2B marketing events

London is where many UK head offices, finance teams and technology buyers are within an hour of each other. That makes it the natural place to run a B2B marketing event when you want the right people in the same room without asking them to travel far. With strong rail and air links, it is also easy for guests from elsewhere in the UK and Europe to reach.

The format you choose matters more than the venue. This guide compares the formats ELN runs for sponsors in London, explains when each one fits and lists the questions worth asking any partner before you commit.

Three London event formats for sponsors

Private executive dinners

A table of ten to fifteen guests, hosted by the sponsor and built around a topic the guests care about. A dinner suits sponsors who want time with a short list of named accounts. ELN's sponsored dinners attracted around 25 registrations each for roughly 12 contracted seats, so the sponsor can review the registrations and choose who sits at the table. See our private executive dinners.

Meet the Buyer summits

Twice-yearly London events where sponsors take pre-booked 20-minute one-to-one meetings with senior finance and procurement leaders. Two co-located summits run on the same day, the CFO Engage Summit and the CPO Engage Summit, with a maximum of 10 sponsors per event and around 50 delegates per track. The morning is built around four rounds of pre-booked meetings, scheduled by mutual match, so each conversation has a reason to happen.

The next summits take place on 13 May 2027 and 23 September 2027 at The Minster Building, 21 Mincing Lane, London. See our Meet the Buyer summits.

Virtual roundtables

For guests who cannot travel into London, a moderated discussion with about ten senior people works well and costs the guests only an hour. Roundtables are a good way to open conversations before inviting the best contributors to a dinner or a summit. See our B2B virtual roundtables.

Which London format fits your goal?

  • Time with named accounts: a private dinner.
  • A full diary of meetings in one day: a Meet the Buyer summit.
  • Early conversations with a target list: a virtual roundtable.

Many sponsors use more than one. A common pattern is a roundtable to start the conversation, followed by a dinner for the guests who engaged most.

How to plan a London event

  1. Agree the audience first. Decide the job titles, company types and accounts you want in the room before you choose a date.
  2. Choose a private setting. For a dinner, a private room keeps the conversation relaxed and lets guests talk openly.
  3. Agree the guest numbers. A smaller table gives each guest more time to speak. Decide the number you want, then recruit slightly above it.
  4. Write the invitation around the guest. A topic that helps the guest do their job will fill the room faster than one about your product.
  5. Plan the follow-up before the event. Decide who contacts which guest, and when.

Five questions to ask a London event partner

  • Who builds the guest list, and is it based on my ideal customer profile? A list built around your target accounts fills a room with the right people.
  • Is attendance agreed in writing before the event? A contracted number gives you something to measure against.
  • Can I accept or reject registrations for invitation-only events? For dinners and one-to-one meetings, you should be able to approve who attends.
  • What delegate data do I receive afterwards? Your sales team needs the list to follow up.
  • Can the same partner run the follow-up programme in other regions? ELN runs events across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

The numbers behind the advice

Between October 2024 and December 2025, ELN generated 6,331 webinar registrations and welcomed 3,207 attendees to dinners and roundtables. Across ELN's sponsored dinners, 306 guests attended against 267 contracted seats.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best B2B event format in London?

It depends on the goal. Dinners suit deep conversations with a short list of accounts, summits suit sponsors who want many meetings in one day, and roundtables suit early conversations with a wider target list.

How many guests should a sponsored dinner have?

Ten to fifteen is a good range. It is large enough for a varied conversation and small enough for everyone to speak.

Can ELN run events outside London?

Yes. ELN runs events across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, in person and online.
